Well its been a while....

Yes, its been a while since I've been here.  And to answer your question from the last blog..like what did I get in my package....well nothing.  The package never came.  I don't know why or what happened and have never heard but that's okay because it must have been something big for a swap sister to just go AWOL!  That's really okay with me and I just prayed a lot for her and her circumstances that may have been beyond her control.  Besides, these were material things and as nice as it is to get a present and have something new, it is better to have compassion and understanding for our sisters, right?

On to fast forward! This latest swap was entitled Some of our Favorite Things!  Well here is a picture of my favorite things wrapped up in fat quarters and ribbon:

My swap sister hasn't said if she has gotten her package yet or not but according to my tracking info., she should have gotten it 2 days ago.  That being said, here is a picture of what is IN the packages that I sent to her!

So here is what I sent her: Starting in the back and going left to right, 2 quilt magazines, a handmade Redwork Christmas ornament of a snowman, a packet of 6 coordinating fat quarters with a pack of ribbon bows attached, 2 packs of Rick Rack one each of red and pink, a package of straight pins with button heads, a blue paper cutter for wrapping paper, a large round box covered with apple fabric and having a pin cushion top containing 3 rolls of grosgrain ribbon in shades of pink all polka dotted, a pink and white bracelet I made in the white box, a matching pair of pink and white heart earrings in blue box, pink magnetic wand for picking up pins with cancer logo, pink zippered bag for notions, and in front, 2 cards of matching pink buttons, one card of gingerbread men buttons and one card of snowmen buttons!  It was fun putting all these things I enjoy, together for Sharon and I just hope she enjoys them too!

Now I am just waiting, quite patiently I might add, for my package to arrive.  If I am one of the ones whose package will be late due to circumstances beyond their control, no worries!  I am just sitting here at home, sewing away on my own Christmas projects for my family.  When it does arrive though, I will let everyone know!

My Secret Swap Sister got her package!

I'm so glad to hear that Lisa got her Secret Swap Sister Apron package!  The word I used was:  SNOWFALL and the items I sent to go along with that word were:  S: Scissors, N:  New dish gloves with a cute ruffle, O:  Ornament, W:  White crocheted top kitchen Christmas towel, F:  2 Fat Quarters in red Christmas fabric,  A:  Apron in red background with white snowmen all over, L:  Leg warmers, for Christmas socks and L:  Luscious Hot Chocolate!   Also, red is her favorite color and she doesn't drink tea or coffee so that's why she got luscious hot chocolate!!!  Yummy on a cold evening in Kentucky!  Thanks Lisa for the cute photo of you in the apron.  It's great!  Happy Holidays!

For the Secret Santa Swap 2012....

Okay everyone, I've been away for a long while but I'm back now!  Here are the answers to the Q's for Shawnee's Secret Santa Swap 2012:

1.  My hobbies are sewing, quilting, cooking, baking and crafting of all kinds!

2.  My favorite colors are pink and red!

3.  I collect aprons, fabric and I love all new sewing notions, gadgets and anything related to sewing!

4.  I have no allergies to anything!

5.  I have one Golden Retriever female, Taylor, which I believe was inbred because she is the dumbest Golden we have ever had!....sweet, but oh so dumb!

6.  Coffee, Tea OR Chocolate?  Why the "OR"???!!!  I love them all!  I guess I'd pick chocolate, and always with something in it....nuts, toffee, marshmallow, etc.

7.  What do I like to read?  A menu!  I'm not much of a reader unless it's a new cookbook or a new book of cute apron patterns!

8.  I normally would prefer cookies over candles but during the holidays its a toss up!  Both are gladly welcomed!

9.  My favorite homemade treat at Christmas is Fantasy Fudge off the Marshmallow Creme label!

10. My favorite holiday tradition is having my children and grandchildren over at my house every Christmas Eve for a big dinner I have cooked and then we all open our presents together after that.

11. Yes, I believed in Santa as a child until I was 7 and an older child told me there was no Santa.  Then I put it all together about the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, etc.

12. We have opened our presents on Christmas Eve for the past 11 years at my house so that my daughter and son-in-law can go see his dad on Christmas day.

13. We put up an artificial tree every year so that I can put it up right after Thanksgiving and keep it up through the new year without worrying about dry needles.

14.  Our tree has a homemade theme.  Most of our ornaments are handmade from either our children, myself or they are gifts that were made from friends of mine!

15. My favorite gift to give is always something handmade, specifically for that person with a lot of thought put into it.  My favorite gift to receive is anything handmade because I appreciate the time and effort they put into making something for me!

There is my 2012 Christmas list of sorts!
